The New Current Prices for Summer Car Hire Malaga Airport Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!As promised last week, I have decided to do a follow up on the blog post I made about the prices of a summer car hire from Malaga Airport. As you can see, some of the prices have fluctuated a little bit. This is because there are always new rates coming in from all of the suppliers. Sometimes the rates will do up because the demand for cars is going up and sometimes the rates will go down as the car hire companies attempt to get more customers with special deals.I have done all the same searches on all the same websites and I have come up with a few price discrepancies. Like I said before, the rates are always changing and you can be sure they will be different come next week or even tomorrow. For that reason, it is very important to make your reservation as soon as possible and if you ever see a lower price than what I am reporting, you should take it straight away!!!June 13 – June 20EconomyFiat Panda = €111.07 – DecodeCarHire.co.ukRenault Clio = €129.29 – CarRentals.co.ukPeugeot 207 = €156.40 – RhinoCarHire.co.ukIntermediate Ford C Max = €158.72 – DecodeCarHire.co.ukToyota Avensis = €203.28 – CarRentals.co.uk Citroen Berlingo = = €276.00 – RhinoCarHire.co.ukStandardPeugeot 407 = €222.28 – CarRentals.co.ukRenault Laguna = €278.20 – DecodeCarHire.co.uk Volkswagen Passat = €364.41 – RhinoCarHire.co.ukJuly 11 – July 18EconomyRenault Clio = €134.33 – DecodeCarHire.co.uk Fiat Grande Punto = €211.53 – CarRentals.co.ukPeugeot 207 = €274.75 – RhinoCarHire.co.uk IntermediateCitroen Berlingo = €227.23 – DecodeCarHire.co.ukFord Mondeo = €301.74 – CarRentals.co.ukToyota Avensis = €397.51 – RhinoCarHire.co.uk StandardOpel Zafira = €282.80 – DecodeCarHire.co.ukVolvo S4 = €348.00 – CarRentals.co.ukVolkswagen Passat = €530.52 – RhinoCarHire.co.uk August 15 – August 22EconomyKia Picanto = €141.40 – DecodeCarHIre.co.uk Fiat Grande Punto = €211.53 – CarRentals.co.ukFord Fiesta = €274.75 – RhinoCarHire.co.ukIntermediate Ford Mondeo = €252.47 – DecodeCarHIre.co.uk Ford Mondeo = €301.74 – CarRentals.co.ukCitroen Berlingo = €460.01 – RhinoCarHire.co.ukStandardVolvo S4 = €348.00 – CarRentals.co.ukRenault Laguna = €356.54 – DecodeCarHire.co.uk Volkswagen Passat 2.0 = €530.52 – RhinoCarHire.co.uk There are a variety of reasons that the prices have changed. It could mean that the supplies are getting lower and only the more expensive cars are available, it could mean that the car hire companies have changed their prices or it could be a combination of the two. There is one thing that is for certain, the prices are going up and they will continue to do so. Therefore, you need to book early!Happy Traveling! |
What to Look for in a Car Hire Review Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!I would like to say something before I write this next blog post… I really appreciate all of the comments and all of the support I have been getting from every reader. I made this blog so I could help you all and I am glad to see it is working. Now I have a small favor to ask from you. If you like the content of the blog or if you are copying my blog, PLEASE LINK BACK. It will really help me to reach a larger amount of people and together we can help everyone save huge on car hire!!!Now, back to the blog!It is very important to research the company you will be renting a vehicle from before you make a reservation. You need to make sure you have done your homework and that you have understood the car hire review you are reading. There will be a few tips in this blog to find good sources for car hire reviews and how you can tell if they are genuine. There is nothing worse that reading all five star reviews only to receive two star service. I can help make sure this will not happen to you.How to Search for Credible SourcesOne of the main things to remember when you are searching for car hire reviews is that you need to find a place that will be independent from the industry. In other words, you will not find the best reviews about a car hire company straight from car hire websites. You need to look elsewhere to get some solid information. It is also important to remember that most of the people that have a positive experience with a car hire company will not leave a review. Normally, only people that have horror stories sound off in a car hire review. That means you should read a few reviews carefully and determine if they are real or not. Real of Fake?!?Go to this website and search for the car hire review you need: Review CenterNow you have to take a look at the overall rating of the car hire review and determine if it is real or fake. If there are less than 10 reviews and the average ranking is more than 3 stars, it is probably fake. Remember that travelers that have a positive experience were expecting that and they are less inclined to write a review. It is the people that are upset with their service and feel the need to complain that generally leave reviews. Also, read the car hire review with discretion and determine if it is authentic. You can almost always tell if a review is genuine or not. Just read them carefully and look to see if the person is trying to promote the company or if they are actually telling about their experience. Keep Reviewing!!!Here are a few other websites. Make sure you do the same techniques when reading car hire reviews to see if they are real: Car Rental ScoutMy 3 CentsWith these other websites, you can actually look at the city and company where your rental car will originate. This will help you understand the situation even better. Let's say you want to get a car in Malaga, Spain from Hertz. If you only search for a Hertz car hire review, you will not get the best idea about how the service will be in Malaga. Most of those reviews on Hertz will be from different locations all around the world and will only give a general overview of the company. You should combine both of the car hire reviews together to get the clearest picture about what to expect. If you have any questions or if you need any help, please leave a comment and we can work together. Don't forget to link me back if you like my blog!!!Happy Traveling! |

You need to check early and often if you want to find the lowest costs on car hire Malaga Airport. I will post a similar blog in one week and we can compare how the prices have changed.Happy Traveling! |
The Best Places to Find a Car Hire Malaga Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!In my past few posts, I have rated three car hire companies together. For this post I will focus on a specific city that is a perennial hotbed for car hire. That city of course is Malaga, Spain. If you would like to save money and have a great overall experience, there is a lot you need to know before booking a car hire in Malaga. In this post, I will outline the best places to reserve a car hire, the best companies to use, the best time to make a reservation and a few tips for avoiding problems. So, let’s dive right in and start talking about car hire Malaga. The Best Places to Reserve a Car HireUnfortunately, I have not found the magic website out there that always has the lowest prices for car hire. Therefore, you need to shop around and do some comparisons if you want to find the best deal. The way to go about doing this is to give yourself enough time to fully research many different websites. Make sure you can dedicate at least 2 hours to searching and comparing the best prices. You should also write down the information you gather so it will be easier to go back and find the same websites and car hire rates. There are three websites I always check first when I am trying to book a car hire.1. Carrentals.co.uk2. DecodeCarHire.co.uk3. RhinoCarHire.co.uk It is a good idea to browse these three websites first and then you can search for other sites and compare them to the big three. This will give you a good baseline to start your searching. Once you know the prices from these top three websites, you can search other places and simply compare if someone can beat the price. This will save you a lot of time and a lot of money! The Best Companies to UseBecause we are talking about car hire Malaga, I will provide you with a list of the best companies in the area. I will base these results on car hire reviews and my personal experiences. It is very important to remember that this year will be extra difficult on the car hire suppliers and that might be reflected in their prices. Nonetheless, you will want to use one of these companies to get the best service and nicest cars. 1. Marbenjo Malga2. Avis Malga Airport 3. Sixt Malaga4. Auriga Crown5. Record GoYou may recognize a few of these companies, while other could be unknown. It has been my personal experience that tells me the car hire company does not matter, it is more about the service and the quality of car you receive. In fact, some of the worldwide known brand names can have some of the worst service you can imagine. That is why it is a good idea to have a positive attitude when you go to pick up the car and your experience will be greatly improved. The Best Time to Make a Reservation If you are really serious about taking a car hire holiday to Malaga this summer, you need to move fast if you want to book a vehicle. I have already hear that many of those 5 rental car suppliers are getting close to fully booked. At the latest, you need to book the car before the end of March or you might miss out entirely. Another option you have is to call the rental companies and ask them when some of their cars will be available. Here is how it could work. If you really want a car hire, and you have a flexible schedule, all you need to do is call the car hire company and ask them to give you some dates when a car will be available. Maybe that will mean you only have the car for a few days, or you might be lucky enough to get one for the entire week. This option can easily be avoid though if you just book well in advance. The call and ask method should only be attempted in a desperation situation. Tips for Avoiding Problems1. Book Early – Yes, I know I just wrote about this, but I am saying it again because it will be so vital this year. 2. Do not miss your pick up time or drop off time – Because the cars are in such high demand, the rental companies will most likely increase their charges for a car that is not returned on time. You do not want to be caught in this situation. Also, if you are late for the pick up time, they might give your car away.3. Be prepared to pay extra hidden fees – Of course this is just a personal thought, but, I think the rental companies in Malaga might be out for blood this year. They will charge you a little bit here and there because they know you will pay it. And if you won’t, someone else will. 4. Expect the unexpected – Sorry about the cliché, but this will be a good motto to travel by. Do not think there are any guarantees, do not plan for a perfect car hire experience and remember that if something goes wrong, it is ok because you were expecting it.5. HAVE FUN!!!Happy Traveling! |
Car Hire Company Reviews (Part VI) Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!I am back after a short time to write another installment of my car hire reviews. This is already the sixth edition of the series. I hope to continue writing these posts so that all potential car hire customers can have a good idea of what to expect from all of the different companies out there. It is no secret that many of the car hire companies are not so good, but if you read my car hire reviews, you will find a lot of useful information. Make sure you check out what the Car Hire Expert has to say before you make a reservation.Vroom Vroom VroomMain Website : www.vroomvroomvroom.com.au, www.vroomvroomvroom.com Year Started : UnknownParent Company : Vroom Vroom Vroom Type of Service : Broker Overall Ranking 7 / 10Company Overview – Vroom Vroom Vroom is a Australian car hire company that has recently branched into other parts of the world. This company has come a long way from its roots of operating solely in Australia. Now they have office in 5 different countries and offer their services all around the world. Pros – There were not many Vroom Vroom Vroom reviews on the internet, but I found their website quite easy to use. Another positive aspect of the company is that they generally only use car hire suppliers that are very well known. The main companies they feature are Alamo, Avis, Budget Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty. Because they use such quality car hire suppliers, there should not be many problems with Vroom Vroom Vroom. I think it is definitely worth trying them for a car hire. There were hardly any negative comments about them. Especially for Australia, you should use Vroom Vroom Vroom car hire. Cons – There prices are not as low as some of the other websites. They do have a guaranteed lowest price deal, but it is unknown how efficient the process is. About the only Vroom Vroom Vroom review I could find also said that it was difficult to deal with the customer service department. I do not put too much into these claims because they are out there for every company. If you have something else to say about this company, you can respond and leave your own Vroom Vroom Vroom review.Rhino Car HireMain Website : www.rhinocarhire.com Year Started : Unknown (within 5 years) Parent Company : Rhino Car HireType of Service : BrokerOverall Ranking = 8 / 10 Company Overview – Rhino Car Hire is one of the leading car hire companies in all of the world. They are the brokers for many people that need car hire on a daily basis. They have achieved a very respectable presence from internet search engines and they are able to attract a lot of customers this way. The good news is that they satisfy a large range of the customers that come to their website. Pros – The prices are low, the quality is high and the company are easy to find. No matter what city you will need a car hire for, you will be able to find Rhino Car Hire in Google, Yahoo, etc… In almost all of the Rhino Car Hire reviews, the customers were satisfied with the service they received. Of course all of the Rhino Car Hire reviews on their website were stellar, but I also found independent sites that gave Rhino good marks. I would suggest using Rhino Car Hire if you never have before. You can decide for yourself and maybe write your own Rhino Car Hire review. Cons – The only bad thing about Rhino Car Hire is that they are all over the internet. They have done so much work to put themselves atop the search engines that their service might lack because of it. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into before booking the car hire for an obscure location. In the good Rhino Car Hire reviews, the people may have booked with a good company. If you will have a lesser known company your results may not be so good. If you have something else to say about this company, you can respond and leave your own Rhino Car Hire review.Auto EuropeMain Website : www.autoeurope.comYear Founded : 1954Parent Company : Auto EuropeType of Service : BrokerOverall Ranking = 6 / 10Company Overview – Auto Europe was built as a company to help people from North America find car hire in Europe. They have since changed their company to offer car hire to people all over the world for their global locations. They are a car hire broker that operates in thousands of locations.Pros – Auto Europe has low prices for car hire that are generally less than a lot of the brokerage companies. If you are a customer from North America, Auto Europe could be one of your best choices. Auto Europe reviews from Americans and Canadians were usually good, but the Auto Europe reviews from other countries were not so strong. Since they specialize in helping North Americans find cars in Europe, that should really be the only customers that need Auto Europe.Cons – The poor Auto Europe reviews really focused on overcharges and bad customer service. While this is also the case with many car rental brokerage companies, it seems to be quite constant with Auto Europe. Here is what one unsatisfied customer had to say in their Auto Europe review, “DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE PRICES, THERE ARE A LOT OF HIDDEN ZOMBIES in this business model of theirs.” It seems like those low prices they offer are not always guaranteed. If you have something else to say about this company, you can respond and leave your own Auto Europe review.Happy Traveling! |
Car Hire Company Reviews (Part V) Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!Today I am going to do some reviews about individual car hire suppliers. A word of caution before you continue reading is that your results can vary greatly from the reports I will give. These reviews I am about to make are very general about huge companies. All together, these companies operate over 10,000 car hire pick up locations. There is no way all of them will have the same customer service, car quality and policies. I strongly recommend looking into the specific company you will use before accepting a car hire reservation. If you need a car hire in Bristol, you need to research Europcar Bristol, for example, and not just Europcar in general. I hope this can be a small guide, but it is important to do some really in-depth examinations of your specific company to avoid trouble in the future. So, here we go, let’s start on our car hire company review journey!!!Europcar ReviewMain Website : www.europcar.comYear Started : 1949Parent Company : Eurazeo Subsidiary Companies : National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car (European Operations) Type of Service : Supplier Overall Ranking 7 / 10Company Overview – Europcar is headquartered in Paris, France and is one of the biggest suppliers of car hire in Europe. They have a fleet list of more than 200,000 automobiles in almost 3000 location all over the world. The brand is very well known and is used by millions of people every year. Pros – Most of the people that made a Europcar review said that the prices were cheap and the cars were in good condition. Many people even reported receiving a brand new car. That is a good sign for Europcar. Low prices and nice cars are a great combination for customers. The only problem is that something might not add up. Cheap prices and great cars means that have to make up the money somewhere.Cons – The most common response is that the customer service was bad. Another complaint in the Europcar reviews is that people had a lot of hidden fees they needed to pay for. One person that did a Europcar review for a city in the UK said, “They may well be one of the cheapest providers, with a large network of vehicles, but our experience is that their service is at best poor, and at worst dishonest.” It is very important that you inspect the car before you drive it and make sure you will not be charged for damages you don’t cause. Also, you need to carefully read the contract before you sign. I have used Europcar many times and I have had very few problems.Budget Rent a Car ReviewMain Website : www.budget.com Year Started : 1958Parent Company : Avis Budget GroupSubsidiary Companies : Avis Rent a CarType of Service : SupplierOverall Ranking = 5 / 10 Company Overview – Budget Rent a Car is an American company that has locations all over the world. They employ more than 26,000 people at almost 2000 pick up locations. They are owned by the Avis Budget Group, however they keep a separate identity from Avis.Pros – It was hard to find any people that wrote a positive Budget Rent a Car review. However, many people said they were satisfied with the initial price. Many later reported being charged extra, but the initial price was very cheap. It is possible to only pay the initial price if you know what you are doing. Therefore, you need to make sure you know what you are signing for and you need to confirm the final price before you sign. It might even be a good idea to ask for a post rental inspection of the vehicle so you can understand what their extra charges could be for.Cons – Every negative Budget Rent a Car review was due to poor customer service. Not only were people treated poorly when they were picking up the car hire, but they were also treated poorly post-rental. The most common Budget review complaint was the extra fees. It seems like a lot of Budget places are charging for unfair things. Again, I have to say that a lot of these problems can be easily avoided with a post rental inspection. Do not just drop off the keys and run away. You need to get a document from the rental company saying that the car is returned in good condition and that you will not be charged extra. There is no way they will be able to argue against their own documentation. National Car Rental ReviewMain Website : www.nationalcar.comYear Founded : 1947Parent Company : Enterprise Holdings Inc.Subsidiary Companies : Enterprise Rent A Car, Alamo Rent a CarType of Service : SupplierOverall Ranking = 9 / 10Company Overview – National Car Rental has more than 2000 pick up locations all over the world. They also have one of the best repeat user programs called the Emerald Club. This always the members to book car hire online and then go directly to the car without bothering with the pick up desk. However, this is only available in locations for some of the United States chapters. Pros – Most of the National Car Rental reviews said that the prices were good, the cars were nice and the customer service was tolerable. Relatively, this is by far the best customer service rankings of all three companies in this review. On one car hire review website, almost 40% of people actually recommend using the company. If we put that into real terms, it is more like 95% of people would recommend National. What I mean by real terms is this…Almost everyone that has a positive experience does not write a review because they got what they were expecting. Usually, people only write poor reviews. With such a high percentage of satisfied National Car Rental reviews, I can determine that they are an overall good company. Cons – The most common negative response was that the prices were too expensive. Actually, that good be viewed as a good thing. If the prices are high and there were not many reports of hidden extra charges, that means the final price is actually cheaper in many cases. Of course, there are always a few reports of horrible customer service, but I think you know this is the case with every company. I really wanted to give them 10 out of 10, but I cannot do it. However, I can absolutely recommend using National Car Rental for your next holiday, especially in the United States.Happy Traveling! |
Car Hire Company Reviews (Part IV) Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!Here is my fourth installment of the car hire company reviews. I hope they are working out for you. I would strongly advise you to use this only as an initial guide. You still need to do some research on your own to find out everything you can about certain car hire companies. I have also started to list the companies if they are brokers or if they are suppliers. This is a very important detail that need not be overlooked. The reason ism, brokers will not give confirmation instantly like would happen with the actual car hire supplier. However, the brokers offer lower prices than the car hire suppliers. Therefore, you need to assess your situation and determine the best course of action for your needs. If you can book in advance, go with a broker. If it is a last minute reservation, you are better off going directly to the company or even making a reservation over the phone.Car Hire Express ReviewMain Website : www.carhireexpress.co.ukYear Started : UnknownParent Company : Bisca International Investments Ltd Subsidiary Companies : www.travel-library.com, www.thebackpacker.net Type of Service : Broker Overall Ranking 5 / 10Company Overview – This is website uses the exact same search engine as www.anycarhire.com. I am not sure of all the details, but the searches I made for both websites produced the exact same results. That is not a bad thing though, it just means they are, in effect, the same website. There was also very little to find in the way of customer reviews on this company. Therefore, I will simply give them the same responses as for anycarhire.com. Both of these websites take you to the company that will be supplying the car hire, so it seems like they cannot really do anything wrong. The only problems you may have is through their partners. If you have some more information about this company, please leave some feedback in a Car Hire Express review.Pros – Competitive prices and the website is easy to use.Cons – Not many partners and they do not have pictures for a lot of the cars. It is hard to give this company a ranking so I put 5 out of 10. They are worth a try, but I am not sure how it will work out. There was one poor review out there about a car hire in Boston where the company had no record of the person’s rental. Here is a small excerpt, “they had never heard of me and had no cars available when I arrived. The "bargain" I had discovered on the internet turned into a very expensive last-minute nightmare.” Do not get to worked up though, this seems to be an isolated situation. Rubbe Car Rentals ReviewMain Website : www.rubbe.com Year Started : 2009 Parent Company : Rubbe Car RentalsSubsidiary Companies : noneType of Service : BrokerOverall Ranking = 8 / 10 Company Overview – Rubbe Car Rentals is a relatively new player in the internet car hire business. I could not find a lot of reviews about Rubbe, but I did find that most people were satisfied with the service they received.Pros – The website is very straight forward and the prices are really cheap. I had no troubles navigating around the site or finding anything I wanted to know. They put the name of the supplying company next to the price and that is always a good thing to know. I also like the pictures and the layout when selecting a car hire. Here is what one rubbe.com review said, “I had no problems with my reservation from Rubbe or with Alamo. I will use them again.” Alamo is apparently one of the partners for Rubbe Car Rentals.Cons – As is often the case with these car hire broker websites, some people had complaints with the car hire supplier and not with Rubbe.com. It is really beyond me why so many people cannot understand how this works. To highlight my point, here is a quote I found where the customer gave Rubbe Car Rentals a 1 out of 5 stars, “The people at Thrifty treated me like I didn’t even exist. I was calling them every day for a week to enquire about some extra charges to my credit card. Finally got some money back but will not deal with them ever again.” This is obviously a poor review for Thrifty and not Rubbe. That is why I suggest learning everything you can about your car hire supplier before using them.Deal Checker ReviewMain Website : www.dealchecker.co.ukYear Founded : 2005Parent Company : DMC Digital Ltd.Subsidiary Companies : www.zipatrip.comType of Service : BrokerOverall Ranking = 8 / 10Company Overview – This company has grown to one of the largest and most respected travel websites in the UK. They have recently won some awards for the ease of use on their site and also about the quality of service they provide. In only 5 years they have managed to serve millions of customers each year. The website has a lot more than just car hire deals and they often had the lowest prices.Pros – Cheap prices. They almost always had the lowest price for car hire in the top destinations. They blew away the competition for London Gatwick Airport. Many of the people that made a Deal Checker review were in regards to flights and hotels, but I could not find a poor word about them. I would definitely suggest using dealchecker.co.uk for car hire, hotels and airfare. If nothing else, they will show you which companies have the lowest prices. Cons – I only gave them an 8 out of 10 so there has to be something bad to say about them right? Okay, they have a pretty small staff so that could lead to problems if you need some customer service. However, it does not seem to be a problem because no one has reported any complaints about them that I could find. I think the only downside to this website is that it is not as easy to use as some of the others. However, if you have any sense how to navigate an internet page, you will have no problems with dealchecker.co.uk.Happy Traveling! |
Car Hire Company Reviews (Part III) Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!It is that time again to do some reviews about internet car hire companies. This post will focus on Holiday Autos, Any Car Hire and Nova Car Hire. It is my goal to write reviews for a lot of companies so you can have a good idea about what you can expect the next time you need a car hire. After I have done a big review, I will put all of the data into an easy-to-read post. But for now, let’s dive into some car hire reviews.Holiday Autos ReviewMain Website : www.holidayautos.comYear Started : 2005Parent Company : Sabre Holdings Corporation Subsidiary Companies : www.holidayautos.co.uk, www.lastminute.com, www.travelocity.com Overall Ranking = 4 / 10Company Overview – Holiday Autos is part of a really large travel website group. With the main parent company office in Texas, the rest of the subsidiary companies operate all over the world. Holidayautos.com is a brokerage website that offers really competitive prices. Pros – Most of the Holiday Autos reviews said the cars were inexpensive. Unfortunately, that was about the only positive trend. Of course there were a few people that enjoyed their entire experience, but they were by far the minority. Cons – The most common response that people gave in their Holiday Autos review is that the cars were in poor working condition. It sounds like the cheap prices reflect the quality of the cars. Not all of their cars are old and run down however, some people reported that they had a nice car for their trip. I think that one person said it best, “have rented before with holiday autos, and sometimes had good experience, sometimes bad. Renting with them is a lottery, and one which I won't play again.” This Holiday Auto review basically says that the odds of a good car are less than 50%. I would only recommend using Holiday Autos if you want a cheap price and subsequently…A CHEAP CAR.Any car hire reviewanycarhire.comMain Website : www.anycarhire.com Year Started : 2005Parent Company : Any Car HireSubsidiary Companies : unknownOverall Ranking = 5 / 10 Company Overview – It was difficult to find information about Any Car Hire so I went to their website to get a feel for the usability. It is fairly simple to search for available cars and they put the name of the supplying company next to the price. The only problem is that they only have a few suppliers.Pros – Competitive prices and the website is easy to use.Cons – Not many partners and they do not have pictures for a lot of the cars. It is hard to give this company a ranking so I put 5 out of 10. They are worth a try, but I am not sure how it will work out.Nova Car Hire ReviewMain Website : www.novacarhire.comYear Founded : 2005Parent Company : Nova Car HireSubsidiary Companies : www.placestostay.com, www.goireland.comOverall Ranking = 8 / 10Company Overview – Nova is a car hire broker that offers cars all over the world. One of their main markets is in Ireland because that is where I saw the most Nova Car Hire reviews for. They even operate another website goireland.com. They seem to be a strong company in the UK and the USA. Pros – Good prices and a nice website. Nova Car Hire does everything you would expect from a high quality internet car hire brokerage firm. They deliver what they promise and they do it for a low price. I can definitely recommend using this website, especially if you will be traveling in the USA or the UK. Cons – The only bad quotes in the Nova Car Hire reviews were in regards to the independent car hire companies they work with. If I had 5 cents every time I had to say what I am about to say…I would have about 5 dollars. Nova Car Hire is not to blame if you have a problem with the independent car hire company. Ok, maybe Nova is responsible for about 1% of the blame. But, we cannot honestly expect Nova to have control over the actions of all of their partners. It is ludicrous, ridiculous, down right impossible. Here is how one person reviewed Nova Car Hire, “No stars. I have a complaint currently with Nova hire. Upon arrival at Pisa airport I had to deal with Auto Europa. On the last day of hire there was a problem with the vehicle. Cut a long story short I am now in dispute with Nova trying to reclaim taxi fares. They are trying to claim they are only a broker and wont take any responsibility for the company they use.” Well I say good for Nova. Happy Traveling! |
Car Hire Company Reviews (Part II) Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!This is another car hire company review list. I will be doing a lot of these because I want to get some discussions going about the car hire companies out there. If you read the last post, you will know that I did a comparison of the most commonly used broker companies. At the end of the story, I warned everyone that it is more important to read reviews about the individual car hire companies than the larger brokerage firms. It is because you will not be renting directly from the broker, but from the individual car hire company. Here are some brief overviews about a few well-known car hire suppliers.Enterprise Rent-A-Car ReviewMain Website : www.enterprise.comYear Started : 1957Parent Company : Enterprise HoldingsSubsidiary Companies : National Car Rental, Alamo Rent A CarOverall Ranking = 5 / 10Company Overview – Enterprise Rent-A-Car is headquartered just outside St. Louis in Clayton, Missouri, USA. They have almost 7000 locations around the world but mostly in the United States. Although the company will rent cars to anyone that wants, they main target market are people that are involved in accidents that need replacement cars. Pros – The most common positive report about Enterprise is that they are punctual. Almost every person that made a Enterprise review either said they were on time or did not mention this aspect at all. That leads me to believe they are a timely company. Another positive response is that Enterprise will pick you up. This is a lot better than going to the rental desks, especially if you need a replacement car for a few days. And although there were mixed reviews for customer service, one repeat customer had this to say in an Enterprise Rent-A-Car review, “From the time they pick me up to the time they drop me off at home, all the employees are extremely friendly. ”Cons – Most of the complaints I found we in regards to insurance problems. Many of the customers felt they were treated unfairly after being in an accident with the car. Furthermore, the customers found it extremely difficult to get a straight answer from the company. One user was duped into taking the extra insurance from Enterprise and then was forced to pay from his personal insurance when there was an accident. He said, “I purchased the supplemental insurance at $14.99 per day, but Enterprise opted to go through my primary insurance to pay for the damages to the rental rather than using the supplemental insurance I had purchased.” That is why you need to be careful and make sure you do not buy the additional insurance if you are already covered by your plan. But, do not bank on the Enterprise staff telling you about this. It is their job to push the insurance, it is your job to know your own insurance policy.Avis Rent a Car ReviewMain Website : www.avis.comYear Started : 1946Parent Company : Avis Budget GroupSubsidiary Companies : Budget Rent a CarOverall Ranking = 6 / 10 Company Overview – The company has roughly 5000 locations all around the world. In Europe, the company is referred to as Avis Europe plc. The USA headquarters is in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey, USA and the Europe chapter is headquartered in the United Kingdom. The website for Europe is www.avis-europe.com.Pros – The Avis reviews were all over the board. One of the best things about Avis is that they regularly change their fleet of cars so that they are relatively new and always in good working condition. Unlike some of the other companies, I did not read one Avis review that stated the car broke down. One customer claims that, “Avis don't like to take the mileage on their cars much over 13,000 (miles),” that is around 21,000 km. If you are looking for a top quality car, Avis is your best choice.Cons – About 99% of the complaints were of poor customer service. Most people felt as though they were treated very unfairly and not respectfully. Another common negative response is that no one seemingly had any authority to solve the customer problems. Even though some of the Avis employees acknowledged that the customers were incorrectly charged, they said they could not fix the problem. Here is a quote from an Avis review, “Customer service was awful. Everybody admitted that I had a problem, nobody was willing/able to help.” If you only care about the quality of the car, go with Avis. If you care about customer service, find a different company. Avis gets 6 out of 10 because their cars are in top working condition, not because of customer service. Hertz Rent a CarMain Website : www.hertz.comYear Founded : 1918Parent Company : Hertz Global Holdings, Inc.Subsidiary Companies : Advantage Rent-a-CarOverall Ranking = 8 / 10Company Overview – The Hertz Corporation was founded in 1918 and has its headquarters in Park Ridge, New Jersey, USA. They are a publicly held company with the New York Stock Exchange symbol of HTZ. They have worldwide rental offices in over 7,500 locations. They claim to be the largest car rental company in all the world. Pros – Many of the people said they enjoyed the quality of the cars they were given and also liked that they had options to take a different car upon arrival. This is a really nice response compared to the other companies where a lot of people said they did not receive the car they were promised. Many people that made a Hertz review also said they liked the convenience of the pick up locations. Hertz also got some good remarks about the value for the car received. One person that made a Hertz review said, “they offered the best price for weekend rentals & are in the most convenient location for pick-up. The vehicles have all been rather new and in good condition (the oldest of them a 2008 ford fiesta).” Of the three companies in today’s post, Hertz has the best remarks by far.Cons – It wouldn’t be a car hire company review post if there were no disadvantages to Hertz. But seriously, the only real problems I found was people complaining about foolish mistakes they made themselves. Of course there is the ever present lack of customer service comment, but here is what one customer review said that I found rather amusing. It goes like this, “I was asked did I not want full insurance? I said I only want the usual basic Theft & CDW cover. Lady processed document & I signed. What I did not notice in my hurry that I was now signing for a 4 day car hire deal at £221.90! - I became aware of this when I got my CC bill.” Apparently, this person decided to just sign the agreement without even taking a look at the bottom line. I am quite aware that many of the companies are trying to rip people off, but this can often be easily avoided by READING WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING. I do not really have an sympathy for someone that signed for a certain price, then is upset with that price. The bottom line is that you should always read what you are signing for, and if nothing else, make sure you read the price. Some people that complain should be writing negative reviews about their common sense, not about the car hire company. ConclusionIt seems there are not too many companies out there that are providing high quality customer service. The best way to combat this is to be as friendly as possible. Maybe it will rub off on the employee. Furthermore, you need to take these reviews with a grain of salt. What I mean by that is many of the reviews are for a specific location and do not necessarily reflect the company as a whole. Just because there is a bad review at Heathrow Airport, does not mean the service will be bad at Gatwick. Furthermore, it is up to you (the customer) to know what you are getting yourself into. I cannot stress this enough so I will write it in bold… DO NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT UNLESS YOU READ THE CONTRACT!!! Save yourself a lot of trouble and headaches later by knowing what is going on at the moment of the rental. It will greatly improve your chances of having a positive experience.Happy Traveling! |
Car Hire Company Reviews Hello Car Hire Seekers!!!There are tons of options on the internet when you are looking for the perfect places to book a car hire. There are many things that you need to consider: price, quality, customer service, location and value. I have been doing some research about the top internet car hire companies and compiled a large list to review some of the websites out there. Your feedback is always welcome, so if you have used one of these websites in the past, please give your own account. I am always open to hear what people have to say. Leave a response if you agree or disagree with my comments. Let’s give everyone out there a good idea for what they can expect from these internet car hire companies. CarRentals Review Main Website : www.carrrentals.co.ukYear Started : 2008Parent Company : ASAP Ventures Ltd.Other Websites : www.carrentals.com, www.car-hire-insurance.co.ukOverall Ranking = 8.5 / 10I found many reviews about this company out in the internet land. It seems that there are loads of people who want to give their opinion on a CarRentals.co.uk. Due to all of the positive responses, it is no wonder why this is one of the best companies out there to find great deal on car hire…they have a lot of customers because of their unique system and low prices.Pros – Almost everything I read about “CarRentals” said something about how easy the website is to use and how low the prices are. They are oftentimes have the lowest price available on the internet and that really helps them get a lot of customers. They have a different system than most other internet car hire companies because they compare a lot of different websites to find the lowest price. They are basically the middle man for the middle men. What I mean by that is they search all of the car hire brokerage companies to get you the lowest prices. Many “CarRentals” reviews also said that it was really easy to use their website because the information is very straight forward. You should definitely check them out if you need to book a car hire.Cons – Basically the only bad “CarRentals” review I could find was in regards to their customer service. One person said, “CarRentals was basically nonresponsive when it came to a post-rental problem.” Here is the reason: this company only links the customer with another company. They do not handle the car hire directly. They simply point people to a company with the lowest rates. That means people that complain about the poor customer service are not even complaining the the right place. It is basically like asking a friend for a restaurant recommendation then going to the eatery and getting some cold food and rather than complaining to the restaurant, they go back to the friend and ask them to fix the problem. You will not have any problems with CarRentals.co.uk if you only use the website for its purpose.Travel Supermarket ReviewMain Website : www.travelsupermarket.comYear Started : 2008Parent Company : Moneysupermarket Financial Group Other Websites : www.moneysupermarket.comOverall Ranking = 7 / 10Generally, “TravelSupermarket” received fairly good reviews. The only real complaint people had is that they prices were not as low as they hoped. It seems like some other websites can offer better deals. You can always tell how good or bad a company is by the number of reviews out there. Not many people leave positive feedback, because they are already satisfied. It is only the people that are upset that will post a bad review. Needless to say, it was hard to find a TravelSupermarkt.co.uk review, which means they are probably going a good job.Pros – The website is very easy to use. That is what almost all of the people that posted a “Travelsupermarket” review had to say. So, I checked it for myself and I have to agree. They put the names of the company very big so you will easily see where the car is coming from and the prices were generally good. It is similar to CarRentals.co.uk too because it redirects you to the website you choose. Cons – This website is more for cheap airline tickets than car hire. It seems like they put more work into the airfare section than the car hire. Sometimes the prices are not consistent when you are redirected to the new site. This is one of the biggest problems with a website like this. I can appreciate that it is difficult to integrate all of the work that is need to keep prices consistent, but if they have too much to handle, maybe they should scale back a little. Also, many people were not happy with the value of the car hire related to the amount of money they had to spend. easyCar ReviewMain Website : www.easycar.comYear Started : 2000Parent Company : easyGroupOther Websites : www.easy.com (There are many other “easyGroup” websites at this page)Overall Ranking 6.5 / 10Many of the “easyCar” reviews I read are pretty negative. However, most of the people are upset with the independent car hire companies and not easyCar.com. This is an interesting conundrum…You have to be careful what company you are renting the car from. It is unfair that the easyCar reviews are so bad, even though it is not entirely their fault.Pros – One of the most commonly stated positives for “easyCar” is that they have low prices. Interestingly, you can find “easyCar” on both of the previously reviewed websites. That means you can use carrentals.co.uk or travelsupermarket.co.uk and you will end up going through easyCar.com.Cons – It seems like “easyCar” is not very careful with the partners they select. There also have some very confusing fuel policies. Here is what one of the easyCar.com users had to say, “Awful experience with Easy Car Rental. They transferred us to Targarent in Pisa, waited ages at airport for awful service, then got a beat up well used Alfa. Even worst when we returned the car. Charged us nearly £100 for 25ltrs of fuel.” But, as you can see, many of the negative “easyCar” reviews were because the independent car hire company supplied a raw deal. This person was more upset with “Targarent” than “easyCar.”ConclusionWe need to look at these reviews objectively. Let’s say you go to CarRentals.co.uk and you find the best deal comes from “easyCar.” So, you go to the “easyCar” website and the ends up being supplied by “Avis.” Then you have a bad experience with the car. Who is to blame? I would say it is more the fault of “Avis” than “easyRent” or “CarRentals.” Therefore, it is a good idea to find out the source of the car hire and then read a review about that individual company before deciding if that is the best place to get the car from. |
